Uncle Rico...

The last two months have been a sort of whirlwind. I almost left my job, for a not so worthwhile opportunity. Some new faces entered my life as I sheepishly dipped my feet in the dating pool. And all the while I am still stepping on ashes from the past.

In the process of getting it together, I am once again wondering if this is where I want to be. The notion of relocating has been buried and resurfaced as many times as Stefano DiMera on Days of Our Lives. The reality is that it may not and will not happen until I get a few things in order, or GET MY SHIT TOGETHER!

Note to SELF: You are posting this as a means of encouraging yourself to make a change. You will not delete this post and will refer to it every time you need a reminder of what it is you working towards. You will not allow yourself to be sidetracked. DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE. GET THINGS DONE AND GET THEM DONE SOONER THAN LATER.

YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE UNCLE RICO!

John Prine and Iris DeMent - In Spite of Ourselves

I discovered this song on my way home tonight. It's featured in A Date With John Waters, a CD collection of songs Waters finds romantic. Upon hearing the first set of lyrics I was hooked. A simple beautiful acoustic love song, which may some day end up on my wedding playlist - should that time ever come.

My 2¢: Best Worst Movie

Earlier today, I caught a screening of the long awaited Best Worst Movie. This will not be a review and I will not disclose any details. I  encourage anyone and everyone to go see it. A labor of love, Michael Paul Stephenson put together quite a moving, intimate and haunting documentary.

Toki Doki Daddy-O

Another 12-hour night full of PETGS, POV Endcaps, Gift Fixtures and CAFs. Despite IKEA-like headache inducing instructions, there was some fun to be had...

Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva!

Today marks the release of one of the most anticipated summer reads, Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva. I know I sound like I am marketing the book (maybe I am), and I am not! I love Victoria Rowell and I love the concept behind the book. She has done an amazing job marketing her latest work. Here's the latest delicious video, along with a few more. Laugh, enjoy and watch again - I have!

ONSnyc

Only in this city, can you have an experience quite like the one I had last night.

I wish more people would realize that sometimes a conversation can deliver just as sweet a payoff, as a roll in the hay.

Nice meeting you, GJ.
