GIVING

This holiday season I have decided to forgo the routine gift-giving and do something completely different. In lieu of gifts, I will be donating, on behalf of myself and my friends, to some of my favorite charities. Nothing would please me more if you did the same on my behalf.

Broadway Cares

The Humane Society

St. Judes

Habitat For Humanity

This does not mean that The Beauty Santa will not come tapping at your door. I have plenty of gorgeous stocking stuffers to hand out! So relax ladies!

I'm still here... Somewhere... I am... Really!

15 days 'til Christmas and I couldn't be more thrilled, because I want this month over and done with! My life mostly consists of work and sleep at this time of the year. While I manage to squeeze out a few moments here and there for friends and family, sometimes it's just not enough. Despite the bitchin' I am quite thankful and blessed to be employed, for the patient friends and family that I have and the interestingly wonderful times I am having this holiday season.

Days of Our Lives: SHE IS MY DAUGHTER! *SLAP* SAY IT! *SLAP*

The moment I have been waiting for... Long story short, Nicole stole Sami's baby and passed her off as her. The truth is finally revealed and the Sami throws the smackdown on Nicole. Classic soap! First slap at 4:35!!! Second slap at 4:42!!! And all the while watching this I actually felt sorry for Nicole. Despite her hijinks, Nicole demonstrated some remorse about her actions throughout the last couple of months. AND she still deserved bitch-pescosas she got from Sami.

A Night @ DTOX: The Cab Ride Home!

Relationships...

My hands are the best relationship I've ever had. They feed me, clothe me, they open doors for me, and every night they stroke me to sleep!

SchOCKTOBERfest: ZombieCrawl

On Friday, Peppermint Patti and I crawled our way from Union Square to Loews Kips Bay for a screening of Zombieland. It was our first zombiecrawl and it was a blast!

SchOCKTOBERfest Day #2-4: Weekend of Horrors

It was perhaps one of, if not the best weekend for the horror movie genre and fans alike. Paranormal Activity galloped into AMC 25 on Thursday and stampeded out of the city. The film sold out all Friday and Saturday midnight screenings, with wait lines twice as long as the one I stood on Thursday night. Zombieland, one of the best horror/comedies I've seen since Slither, tore the competition to shreds over the weekend chopping its way to the #1 spot!

Thursday night. Waiting in line for Paranormal Activity

Due to the growing popularity of Paranormal Activity, Paramount is looking to expand and revisit markets starting October 9th. For more information go to Paranormal Activity Demand Competition. Additionally, the success of Zombieland has already generated buzz about a sequel.

Perfection!

A scene from one of my all time favorite movies, All That Heaven Allows. Proof that there is still a trace of a romantic in me. Why can't life be just like the movies?! Where's my Rock Hudson?! *SIGH*

SchOCKTOBERfest Day #1: Paranormal Activity

And so begins SchOCKTOBERfest, and I couldn't have picked a better movie to kick it off with - Paranormal Activity. Directed by Oren Peli. A happy couple, played by Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, is haunted by a demonic spirit.

I was debating which midnite creature feature I wanted to see this evening - Paranormal or Zombieland. I opted for Paranormal because I knew that it has been making its way through major U.S. cities under a limited engagement. Additionally, after watching the trailer I felt this film would not transfer well with a home viewing. I was right. This film needs to be seen in a movie theatre to fully experience it.

The scares are thoroughly organic, there is VERY little use of CGI. The film relies on ambient sounds and higher level amateur acting to carry it through. And it does so commendably.

You can say the film is a scary movie for the YouTube generation. Paranormal is reminiscent of such films as The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Exorcist, The Entity, and Poltergeist. Of course, Blair Witch immediately comes to mind while watching the film. The gradual build of suspense and tension is EXTREMELY effective - just as in Blair Witch. One could argue that Oren Peli used the Blair Witch structure to bring forth Paranormal - and it certainly works as a well executed homage!

Again, this film is playing weekend limited engagements in major U.S. cities. Check out the film's official website to find out if it's going to be in your neck of the woods. You can also demand the film come to your city! A very important note of information is that the film is only scheduled for midnight screenings, which actually adds to the suspense!

Sit back and enjoy the show...

A Cheer Me Up!

So I bit into my pillow... and not the way I'm normally accustomed to... I have not done that since the Carter Administration, Dixie Carter... Anyways, this helped me get through the sadsies news about OLTL getting cancelled...

One Life to Live Will Be Cancelled Next Year... WTF?!?

Straight up... THIS FUCKING SUCKS ASS! Brian Fuckhead Frons is pulling a FOX and killing the best written, produced, and performed soap opera on the air, in an effort to save All My Chickenwings. FUCK THAT NOISE! Kill AMC and leave OLTL alone! AMC is no longer bankable!

The show is an abomination. The writing is worse than the shit Chuck Crap was writing for Melrose Place. Most of the key players are likely to not relocate to L.A. So what kind of fucking show do you expect to have? This is the kind of shit that makes me wanna bite my pillow!

Y&R: Colleen

Do not go gentle into that good night... Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

As I lay in bed watching the 9-17 episode of The Young and the Restless, I can not help but think of Dylan Thomas' Do Not Go Gently Into That Good Night. As Colleen floated in the mirky depths of the lake, her spirit floating between worlds, she was met by every character who played a significant role in her life. Each character reminisced about their connection/history and while they encouraged her to fight, they subtly said their goodbyes.

This was certainly one of those episodes that needs to be seen. The writing was rich in history, the production was movie-like and character heavy.

Colleen eventually lost the battle against the dying of the light. In what could be considered a case of cosmic irony, Colleen crossed over with the help of her father who met a similar fate nearly 6 months ago while saving another life, just as Colleen was intent in doing.

Kudos to Y&R and Tammy Sursok for an amazing episode! One which I will watch again and again in the near future.

"The Angela"

Below is the look I give people who waste my time with stupid questions (usually at work). I used to call it, "I'll look at you like you're stupid." Then, one day I sat through Sleep Away Camp, discovering this...

BeerQueef Garden Night in Asstoria!

Experienced a Beer Garden for the first time this evening. The Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens. I expected plants, and flower trestles... All we got was concrete and wooden park pinic benches. The great company and Sangria made up for the lackluster urban decor!

Starred!

Got inked today...

HOT DAMN! PAYDIRT!: KISH KISS

The storyline between closet-case cop Fish (Scott Evans) and his onetime college experiment Kyle (Brett Claywell) is just too caliente for words.

This long awaited KISH (Kyle & Fish) kiss scene had all kinds of shades of telenovela high drama, with a dash of adobo-awkward acting, but the chemistry between the two actors was there. They sold the it like a peglegged puta tranny prostituta on Route 1 - 9!!!
