Michael Jackson

This is all I will say about Michael Jackson...

I find it hypocritical that Michael Jackson was the subject of ridicule/controversy most of his life (especially the last 2 decades), and now that he's dead, we have to honor and respect his legacy. Why should we ONLY do that when the person dies? So are we not to respect him or anyone else (famous or not) for that matter while they're alive?

Thank you Michael.

R.I.P. Marilyn Chambers

I learned of Marilyn Chambers from watching her edited T&A movies featured on USA Up All Night. Of course, I only watched them to learn how to seduce men. Despite that fact, there was something extremely alluring about her. Today, I learned of her passing. Rest in Peace, Marilyn.

Not on Christmas! Not on Christmas! Part Deux

Not on Christmas! Not on Christmas! And I do mean it this time... Not to be taken as some clever some sarcastic joke... Another legend crosses over. Here's Miss Kitt singing Cha Cha Heels with Bronski Beat... The irony behind it all? Divine's character, Dawn Davenport, in the film Female Trouble, wanted a pair of Cha Cha Heels for Christmas. When she doesn't get them, she throws a fit on her parents. Dawn causes a chain reaction which makes the Christmas tree topple on top of his mother pinning her to the floor where she lies crying out, "Not on Christmas! Not on Christmas!" The vidjeo below is of a song that was written for, and intended to be sung by Divine in 1989 (he unfortunately died in 1988). I'm sadsies.

R.I.P. Yma Sumac

I stumbled upon Yma Sumac while watching Wigstock like a brillion years ago - Lady Bunny peformed Malambo No. 1 at the Piers. I was hypnotized by the voice, and it took me 3 years to figure out who Lady Bunny was performing to... Thank you for the music. You will be missed!
