Had a good short workout. Ate dinner at Maryann's with Dennis, it's been almost 2 years since I've hit that spot! Push was fun. Big F.U. to the bitch sitting next to us who decided to answer a call and spend 2 minutes trying to figure out where to meet up with her friends after the movie. Home now, laying in bed catching up on my podcasts.
I am selfish, impulsive and insecure. I am reserved, reclusive and at times apathetic. I make mistakes and oftentimes can be hard to handle. Those of you who have experienced me at my worst, are truly deserving of my best.

The Tempest
Saw you the other day
Looking so undermined
Acting like it wouldn't happen
Making sense of anything that you could find
Because it's just about to happen
And you'll be there
You must've known the storm was coming
When the clouds appeared
May as well let the rain come down
And join the circus of people
While you're there
Something is changing
Bruising and taking
And I'm trying to find out what it is
When I fix her, she's breaking
Reason keeps escaping me
Protecting and burning like a cyst
I know that I can help you
I just don't fucking want to
And the feeling is stronger by the day
Say that I'm selfish but I know you need me
Said I'm just so sick of the chase
While you are letting your guard down
I will be letting my self go
While you keep running your ship aground
I will be setting myself alight
To late, you dropped the drawbridge
You let the vampires in
You cause the shit to happen and now you want out
Too late you dropped the drawbridge
You let the vampires in
I hope you know now that it's nobody's fault but yours
While you are letting your guard down
I will be letting my self go
While you keep running your ship aground
I will be setting myself alight

If I picked the winners...
Best Motion Picture of the Year
Slumdog Millionaire (2008) - Christian Colson
This is an obvious lock.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role
Wrestler, The (2008) - Mickey Rourke
A hasbeen actor playing a hasbeen wrestler, not so much of a stretch perhaps. But as an actor you have to draw from personal experiences to bring a character to life. And this has got to be one of the most significant comebacks in Hollywood history.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role
Reader, The (2008) - Kate Winslet
There's a part of me that feels like there's going to be a suprise win in this category (ala Marion Cotillard last year). If they give it to Kate it will be a for her body of work not just for The Reader and Revolutionary road, but for her previous 5 nominations. If she loses, I feel a young first time nominee will be the winner, and Kate will go down in history as the most nominated actress yet to win an Oscar.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role
Tropic Thunder (2008) - Robert Downey Jr.
Heath has garnered enough fanfare and awards. He's carved a notch in Hollywood history. Giving him this award maybe perceived as a waste of an award for one of the other 4 strong contenders. Robert had two strong showings this year and has made a bit of a comeback (Iron Man) in his own right.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role
Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) - Penélope Cruz
I finally watched this film earlier tonight. One of her finest performances thus far. I don't see her as having any real competition.
Best Achievement in Directing
Milk (2008/I) - Gus Van Sant
Danny Boyle did a great job directing a plot driven underdog film. Gus did an amazing job directing a character driven labor of love.
Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen
Milk (2008/I) - Dustin Lance Black
This is as close to Best Picture as Milk will get.
Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published
Slumdog Millionaire (2008) - Simon Beaufoy
This is as much of a lock as its Best Picture win.

Finding and keeping love in your life can be largely about attitude. Love relationships are no different from business relationships; they need lots of attention to keep them on track. Keep your love life spiced up by doing something different.
Question to Jennifer: Help me understand... How the fuck do I spice up something I DON'T have?
Kathy Griffin and Vet Dogs - The Veterans K-9 Corps
Last night I went to see Kathy Griffin. She kicked off the show with worthy cause. As some of you may know from watching My Life on the D-List, Kathy is a major supporter of the troops (NOT THE WAR!). She has partnered up with VetDogs an organization helping those who have served our country honorably to live with dignity and independence whether they are visually impaired or have other special needs, by using guide dogs, service dogs, and innovative technologies.
Please check the site out by clicking on the VetDogs image above or clicking here. There are many different ways of making a donation. And remember, even the smallest donations makes an impact.

Wallace Wells
Wallace Wells is Scott Pilgrim's gay roommate, they share a bed. Scott is straight. I love Wallace. I hope to some day grow up to be like him.
PSB @ The Brits
GENIUS! And I love that they started their medley with Suburbia, one of my near and dears. But why, oh why does Lady CaCa have to spread her browns over their moment?!?!? I don't mind Chris Lowe, he makes me moist.

Bitch missed her flight...
I know the feeling, gurl! Thank God I popped 2 Xanax immediately after I missed my flight last September. Otherwise it would have gone down something like this, with a dash of Shirley McClaine in Terms of Endearment!

Scott Pilgrim... My love for comics rebirthed!
I read about Scott Pilgrim a couple of days ago on /film.com... 2 hours, 6 comic book/bookstores (Barnes & Noble, Borders, Midtown Comics East & West, Forbidden Planet) and 1 phone call (thanks Carlos!) to Jim Hanley's later, I had 2 copies of Vol. 1. In a word, AMAZING! From what I've read so far, about half way through Vol. 1, and what I know about the film adaptation, the casting has been pinpoint perfect. Add to that the fact that the film will be a mix of live action and animation, means this is going to be total eye candy! Picking up Vol. 2 at some point today, that's for sure.

Can you identify the music!?!?
I have been searching for the blasted background music for months! Can anyone tag it?!?!
Because it bares repeating...
Reluctance
Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.
The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.
And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question "Whither?"
Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

The HORRORscopes Continue!
Friday, February 6th 2009
Relationships in general are under the microscope at the moment. If you're looking for love, then it's a favorable time to find it, Cancer. Look for a partner who adores your individuality and who loves you for who you are. Of course, all relationships take adjustment and compromise, but be careful of changing your personality for someone.

Jennifer Angel's Daily Horoscope
Your Daily Horoscope - Cancer
Thursday, February 5th 2009
If you have been trying to let go of a troubling emotional issue that concerns love or money, you have a chance this week to dispose of the matter once and for all. Whatever the reason, it's possible to get a clean break and move on. Make sure you learn a lesson from what's happening in your life now and in the past, so you don't repeat the same scenario.
BRONSON
The brutal true life story of British prisoner Charles Bronson, born Michael Gordon Peterson in 1952 to a respectable middle-class British family. Bronson has since spent almost 40 years behind bars and in solitary confinement for various offenses and is described as Britain's most dangerous criminal.
